Pay crunch

Troops have been hit with a steady drumbeat of negativity about their pay and benefits in recent years. In 2014, Congress approved the smallest basic pay raise of the all-volunteer era, a disappointment for many troops that could be repeated in 2015. That has many in uniform rethinking the overall value of their compensation package.
